Do you have the management and operational skills, leadership ability and ambition to develop our Indoor Tennis and Activity Centre, create a high quality Gym and Fitness studios ; deliver a profitable  bar and catering service and position the  Centre as a valuable asset into the community. 

The ARC Trustee Board welcomes applications for the post of  General Manager with a proposed start date in January 2019 and offering a salary ( including a PRP package ) of £30,000 - £32000.

About the Role

The Centre requires a General Manager to lead on the development of the facilities within the Atlantic Racquet Centre .Initially the Manager will be required to work with a contractor to design, install and set up a state of the art Gym with exercise studios and to subsequently develop the Gym membership package and recruit the appropriate staff to manage the fitness operation. Squash ,Badminton and Table Tennis facilities will be installed and require programming and club development . The bar and catering operation will be an important element to design, develop and market , ensuring that an efficient and welcoming social atmosphere is created for the membership. 

The General Manager position is the key role within the club and will lead on all the management and operational functions. The role requires the development of the centre’s operational policies and procedures  including financial management and budget planning ,marketing and programming , staff rotas, customer service ,maintenance programme and health and safety practices

About Us

The Atlantic Racquet Centre (ARC) at Caddesdown , Bideford  is a  new racquet facility in  North Devon. It is a registered Charity , with a board of volunteer trustees. The Club has over 500 members with a well developed coaching programme both within the club and in its educational outreach schemes . 

The Centre currently provides 6 floodlit outdoor tennis courts and 4 indoor courts. The next phase due to be completed in 2019 is the development of the additional racquet facilities within the indoor centre – squash courts, badminton and table tennis ; the gym and fitness studio areas; changing facilities , the social areas, bar, catering and meeting rooms.  

About You

As our General Manager , you will need a broad range of business and leisure management skills. The successful candidate will be expected to have a leisure or hospitality management background with practical and senior experience in site management and to have a track record in delivering a high quality customer care service. In addition , you should have good communication skills and strong leadership and people management skills. It will be essential that you have developed good organisation and time management skills and can managing multiple tasks.
